From the inside looking out: Christian Slater has been trying to get his life back on track since his August arrest for misdemeanor battery, resisting-arrest and drug charges--and we get word he's doing just that. Leland Orser, who just finished shooting the big-screen dark comedy Very Bad Things with Slater, Cameron Diaz, Jeremy Piven and Jeanne Tripplehorn, reports: "I was there with him every day. And let me tell you, he's been trying hard to put his life together, fill it with positive actions and rid it of negativity - and he's succeeding.''

Orser, who also co-stars in Alien Resurrection and the upcoming Saving Private Ryan, adds that he's going to miss Slater now that Very Bad Things is wrapped. "I've grown to love him. He's a good person,'' he says. Time will tell if Slater can convince the court of that. He's scheduled to go to trial Dec. 10 in a West Los Angeles Municipal Court.
