Monsieur Reyer: 30s-40s, tenor, character role, repetiteur (vocal coach) of the Paris Opera, an agitated, finicky, meticulous fellow, strict disciplinarian, always on the verge of hysteria...

I know it must seem strange that anyone would devote an entire website to a rather inconsequential character from a popular musical, yet here it is. I could have spent a great deal of time creating a website devoted to the Phantom, or Christine, or Raoul, or any of the other principal characters... but shrines alrady exist for them, and a huge number of sites besides. My number one reason for creating this site was to do something out of the ordinary in the world of Phantom phandom. [That's also why I decided to write "Teacher of Music".]

My second reason was that someone had already beaten me to the punch at creating a website dedicated to Phantom actors. I still wanted to create a website devoted to a character from Phantom, but all the main characters had already been snapped up. Then I remembered how much I enjoyed Ted Keegan in the little role of Monsieur Reyer and figured, why not Reyer? My favorite Phantom--Thomas James O'Leary--had performed the role, and quite a few of the actors have risen to play Monsieur Andre. I'd wanted to do something original, and I decided that a shrine to the overlooked role of Monsieur Reyer was in order... even if I was the only person who appreciated it.

In conclusion, this website is dedicated to two people:

Ted Keegan, because it's his fault;
and David DeWitt, because he keeps me inspired.
Love you guys. :)
